STANDING WATER ON FIBREGLASS ROOF

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

Have just had a dormer flat roof redone in fibreglass. However there is a large sheet of standing water on one side. The roofer is taking no responsibility. What is the best way to get it fixed?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The roofer has probably laid the roof covering to the existing falls. The problem is that the old felt has chippings on it which masks a multitude of felt roofing sins. The ponding will make no difference to a well formed (good workmanship) GRP roof. It will not degrade the roof. If however you really have concerns then you need to employ another roofer who deals (ideally - solely in fibreglass). The roof will need lightly abrading, and the resin mixed with silica 50/50; this is then used as a filler in the area of the depression, the roof then resurfaced with a light mat or surface tissue and new topcoat applied. Hope this helps Andrew @ Fibretechs - Glos
