Water from kitchen sink coming out of dishwasher outlet

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.08 PM

Not sure if I'm describing this right but I'll give it a go. My mum's kitchen sink drainage is connected to the dishwasher drainage pipe. When she empties her sink the water gushes out of the dishwasher outlet thingy and water gets all over the floor. Is there any way to plug that drainage pipe at the end connected to the dishwasher? We've disconnected it as it wasn't working anyay. I got a universal 1.25in plug but am not sure if it will work. Advice please!!

It sound like the waste pipe is partly blocked, and so when the dishwasher is working the water cannot get away quick enough. It may need cleaning out. Hope this helps
