How to drill a hole through stone for a wood burner

What's the best way to make a 8 inch hole for a wood burner in stone

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Diamond core drill if it's solid and stable but some old stone walls can be loose inside or even "rubble filled" and then it's best to use a lightweight breaker and carefully chip out a hole, preferably taking out a whole stone that's in a good spot and mortar ing around the chimney sleeve afterwards.
