Noise coming from the pipes around the boiler / air in central heating system
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.12 PM
I have a Potterton Profile boiler and Honeywell thermostat, with an open central heating system (f&e tank in the loft). I recently drained down the system to install a new heated towel rail in the bathroom. I have refilled (with inhibitor) and bled all the rads as it was filling, including the new installation. Everything is working, all rads heat up but there is noise coming from the pipes around the boiler like trapped air. I have taken time to bleed all the rads periodically and there is lots of air coming out each time but I can't seem to stop the terrible noise around the boiler. Is it a case of just bleeding rads until all the air is released and hopefully (the noise) or should I have done something else to push out all the air. Is there a bleed valve on or around the boiler? Do I need to balance the rads / how do I do this. Thanks for your help in advance.
