Customer has decided no longer likes design of driveway
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.53 PM
I have just finished a driveway for a customer, who a week later has now decided she doesn't like it. She did pay at the time but is now asking for a refund so that a new landscaper can redo the drive, she is now claiming it is substandard work, when originally she said she was really happy with it. I have offered to go back and rectify any discrepancies she had but she says I am not allowed back on the job. Where do I stand legally? She has sent me a quote from another Landscaper who has quoted using all my materials!!
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Join the club mate, I've just been screwed by a similar situation, this is advice from a solicitor, if she thinks the work is substandard, then she has to prove it by getting a survey from an independent expert such as a surveyor, the word of another trader means jack he is just after work so is bound to slag you off, then you need to get your own report from an independent expert, if it goes to small claims, and she has not allowed you to rectify then it will go against her, make sure any offer of putting work right is documented in an email then you have done your best, good luck,
