Low water pressure from shower (bath has showerhead attachment in addition to electric shower)

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.34 PM

I've moved into a new build flat and the water pressure from my bathroom sink tap is very powerful but the pressure from the shower and bath tap is extremely low. It takes forever to fill a bath and the shower kind of just dribbles out :-( More confusingly the bath has a showerhead attachment from the bath tap (which is in addition to the electric shower on the wall) and the water that comes out of this is extremely powerful. How can that be powerful but when you change the mixer back to the tap it is weak again? Is this something that I can fix myself?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Sounds like there might be a kinked pipe somewhere under the bath, if the hot water pressure is strong from the sink but weak from the bath, does the cold water seem the same? with a combination boiler there will always be better pressure from the cold. also the pipe diameter is often bigger to the bath taps 3/4"or 22mm so the reduced pipe size to the sink 1/2" or 15mm will speed up the flow. if its a new build then call the developer and ask them to investigate for you and ask your neighbours if they have the same problem
