full renovation job! best treatment for cellar to make sure is damp free before turning it into a kitchen

We have recently bought a Victorian terraced house with bedroom and bathroom in the cellar.We would like to change this to kitchen and dining room area..... There is good light and ventilation to the street. The house has not been lived in for some time and is in very poor condition. Full gutting and probably replastering, re-roofing needed. What would be the best treatment for the cellar to make sure area is damp free before turning it into a kitchen.... Sally

The best treatment to make sure your cellar would be damp free would be the installation of a Newton cavity membrane and drainage system.
