Dispute over shared drive - neighbour complained cannot get car into garage (though used for storage)

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.53 PM

I have recently moved into a semi detached house with a shared drive. I have built a wall at the rear of my house, on my side, and it does not fall into the space between my house and that of the neighbouring vacant property, owned by a local landlord. He has complained that he cannot get his car to his garage, even though he does not live there and his garage has been used to store property, leaving no room for a car. The shared drive is too narrow for even a small vehicle. He claims to have a mini but I think he's trying it on. Can he force me to remove the wall?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Technically ist not a garage its a shed?!? If you move the wall it will still be used a shed/storage unit! A tribunal will recognise this and the ball reamins in your court. Happy to help Rob McArdle DELAB

do you happen to have any photographs of the previous area in question? If so you can show your neighbour how it looked before and after to show there is no difference? Or refer to your original property deeds as this will show you your boundaries and as you are paying to have work done on your own land i cannot see what the problem is! if in doubt call out a surveyor yourself to inspect your wall.
