Rising damp - proper procedures to damp proof the floor and concrete it again

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.08 PM

Hi I have a 1925 house with some rising damp and am thinking of purchasing Dry Zone Cream to try and sort that problem out but also my concrete floor had slight cracks in it and was a little damp. I was going to buy some Tanking Slurry to try and sort it out but my dad has gone taken the concrete floor up which was about 5 inches deep and now there is only compacted hard core with some sand and dirt. My dad is quite good at DIY but I want to know the proper procedures to take to damp proof the floor and concrete it again as intend to put a wooden floor down. please could anyone advise me? Thanks Mandy

we use a epoxy dpm that dries like plastic it is troweled with a notched trowel then rolled with a paint roller to flatten the trowel marks once dry a quick self level and problem solved ,looks like your opening a can of worms exposing the foundations.

Do not waste your money on damp injection cream. It's not rising damp. If you want to spend your money wisely then you can now obviously with help lay a limecrete floor. Visit heritage house and you will see more information.
