hot water from woodburner (sealed system)

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.08 PM

I wonder if anyone can offer advice. I have a wood burner it is a sealed system and has two heat exchangers one for the heating which we use all the time in winter. And one for hot water which has never been used. Is it possible to connect the hot water outlet to our mains pressure electric water heater. The idea being we introduce warm or hot water to our 80 l hot water tank in the winter. the cold side of the hot water system is normal mains pressure as is the cold inlet to our water heater. I have had conflicting advice on this. thank you

shouldn't be using a wood burner on a sealed system at all very dangerous as no expansion of the heat.Must be open vent ,have a look at Gledhills torrent OV
