Want rid of stair carpet - how to get a good hard wearing finish
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.12 PM
I have removed my stair carpet (hurrah) and currently have bare wood. The plan is to repair the wear and tear on the treads and then paint them. I have two young dogs that run up and downstairs as well as humans (not so agile as the dogs.) So would appreciate suggestions on how I get a good hard wearing finish that won't result in injury.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A pvc or aluminium stair nosing with a bevelled front edge would provide a safe step if you intend keeping the wood bare and painting.
These are available in various colours and you would easily be able to get a colour to compliment the wood.
