rain water dripping on to the gas fire

water seems to be dripping onto the gas fire down stairs, just after it rains. Could the water be leaking in from a cracked crown or something else?

I would re-crown the top of the chimney with new cement. Fit a gas type chimney cowl on the top of the chimney pot, this will prevent the rain and birds from getting in down inside the chimney pot.
