new belling gas cooker with convection fan tripping rcd box

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.08 PM

iv had kitchen renovations and rewiring done my old cooker was connected to cooker socket after electrical rewiring and ignition was fine. I purchased a new belling gas cooker with double oven and convection fan inside main oven however upon connection the electric tripped so the plumber tried another appliance and it works fine in that socket so he tried plugging the cooker into another socket and it tripped the whole house lights he also tried changing the fuse of cooker socket still no joy could it be the cooker has an electrical fault. I believe its not my sockets the cooker has its own point on the rcd like I said my old cookers electric was fine but not the new belling.

The new cooker is faulty if it's tripping the RCD when other appliances plugged-in to the same socket outlet do not trip the RCD.

Yes sounds like a faulty cooker.
