New cooker install - 30a fuse to 40a?

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.34 PM

Just moved house and my new cooker comes with a 13a plug ( 2250w ) and the hob is rated at 6800w. The current supply is a 6m cable on a 30a fuse. Can I change the fuse to a 40a ( would the 6m cable take the load ) the cable run is approx 8 meters and then change the cooker outlet to a socket to accomadate the plug? Any help would be grateful!

30 amp is just enouph for 6800w because the Current Load 29.6 Amps and the Max Cable Load is 38.0 Amps for 6mm twin and earth cable run for 10 meter. 32 amp breaker is enough.
