Help with my first project - transforming shop to restaurant

I will have to transform shop to restaurant. It will be my first project. I am not sure that I can manage the project or better hire a contractor but it will cost us more. The thing is I get the quote for everything but do not know what to start. Could you tell me what to be done first? -Relay roof to insert waterproof -Lower floor in one room -change rotten beam - sound and fire proof insulation -replace damage wall -open up all ceiling -insert metal beam to some floor -Open up 2 new wall to put new doors -electricity rewire and 3 phase installation -new gas, boiler and heater system -New toilet -Flooring If I really need to project manage, what's the way to do it? How to schedule it? Please kindly advise...Thank you

Hi, as you have said its your first project and it looks a big one , also you state that your not sure if can manage the project which probably gives you the answer? Some of the items you mention are major ie fireproofing, gas heating ,roof work , 3phase electricity , inserting steel beams etc . All this work needs to be carried out by professional people as it can all go badly wrong in a diy version and will cost you a lot more when things go wrong or building inspection from the local authority check the work. Look for a local builder who can cover all the work with the necessary certificates on completion for the building inspectors . Don't know where you are at , we are in tyneside or could certainly advise /help Regards rob
