Power flush for 30 year old central heating system, yes or no?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.11 PM

The central heating system in my house is 30 years old, at least. The boiler has been changed, but to my knowledge the system has never had a total wash out. Having said that it all works just fine. The question is, would a power wash out cause more trouble than its worth. Would I either end up with a much better system or will it be leaks everywhere?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The best way for you would probably be to remove each radiator and flush out via hose in garden, then refit all rads and do a system clean. I personally would not recommend a power flush but others would. Do you have small pipework? 8 or 10mm copper? If you do then I would definitely not be power flushing.

Yes I would definitely do a power flush I have done loads of flushes on systems 30 years old and older and have all been a success and system has worked better then before. You have to do flush properly to get best results
