Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.11 PM

I recently took off a radiator in my bathroom to re - paper behind. After refitting and filling up I noticed that I wasn't getting any hot water. I checked the system and the pressure in the system was low. I filled up and all was fine but have noticed that it constantly drops and requires filling. I gave gone round the rads and bled but no joy. boiler type vaillant ecotec

Boiler is loosing pressure via either a small leak on the valves you connected back onto with rad, expansion vessel or PRV have gone.

Hi, please check for any leaks around the new radiator valves or pipework. If not then check to see if it leaks from the blowoff pipe behind (copper pipe going through the wall to exterior side). If so then the PRV has activated, this could be due to the filling loop passing or the expansion vessel gone faulty. PRV could also need replacing too.
