Chimney & Fireplace

No chimney, flue to loft - is it possible to remove a gas fire and make an open fire?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.07 PM

Hi, We've just bought a house built in 1995 which has a gas fire (no chimney, has flue to loft). We would love an open fire (preferably) or a log burner. Is this possible? Thanks & kind regards Allison

No you cant use the flue that your gas fire used, you can how ever use what they call a twin wall system if you was to put a stove in

Yes it is possible but it will have to have its own flue system installed to the manufacturers instructions to ensure safe operation to protect life & property, regards GASSAFE
