Damp Proofing

Damp appeared above our patio doors in the lounge, and has left a tide mark.

Hi, I live in 3-bedroomed house in Luton, Bedfordshire buit in the 1980's. My sister and I noticed a couple of weeks ago during a heavy downpour, that a damp patch had appeared on the sill above the patio doors at the rear of the house. This has left a tide-mark behind. We subsequently checked the other windows at the back of the house, and a couple seem to be slightly damp as well. We called Anglian out to check, as the windows and doors they installed about 10+ years ago, and they say this is nothing to do with the windows. We did suggest that it may be the guttering (which they also installed) but again they advised that this was not the case. What would you suggest should be our next course of action? From Gaynor
