Gas fire blew out with strong winds and now won't relight

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.11 PM

Last year my gas fire blew out when we had a heavy rain & wind storm. It now won't restart. I wonder if it has anything to do with the flue ? Prior to switching on the flue kicks in and makes a different noise to the noise it used to make , which makes me think that it may be connected. The gas ignition still clicks when you turn it as it did before...can anyone throw any light on what it may be , I know nothing about fires or flues other than its getting colder and I will miss it if I cant get it working ! Thanks in advance for any advice!

You now need to contact your local gas safe engineer, who will investigate your concerns. Inform them by phone of the problem and make sure they have the necessary experience with fires and flues so you get the right person to attend!
