Pipes knocking when cold water has been run in recently installed bathroom suite

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.11 PM

I recently installed a bathroom suite. But now when I run the cold tap there's a knocking found for a few mins once I turn the tap off. Is this air in the system? And how do I sort it out? Thank you.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

This is 'water hammer' which can be caused by a poor cold water pipe installation, but suggest you fit a Water Hammer Arrester Device. See youtube link below on how to install: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sajyDYglOZ8 copy & paste into your browser
