connecting 2 ovens of 3.6kw both rated at 16amps
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.52 PM
I have 2 ovens "Bosch" both are pulling 3.6kw max and rated at 16amps each. They are fitted with 2.5mm cables . Can I connect both to my cooker connection plate back to the consumer unit which has 6mm cable to a 32 breaker? Thanks for the speedy reply. I want to ensure I have all aspects of the work covered before applying for part P consent. Would it be safer to purchase a 32a DP iso or leave it at 45? Thanks much appreciated. Henry

Provided you apply for Part P building regulation consent and pay the appropriate fee you can then carry out DY electrical work, so Yes. Failure to comply with Part P can result in a fine of £5000. - You can not do DIY electrical work without consent being in place.
