Which bathroom extractor fan should we buy to tackle extreme humidity?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.11 PM

We have a small, windowless bathroom which suffers from extreme humidity and condensation. Moulds appears on the walls soon after scrubbing and it's starting to smell damp and mouldy. We would like to replace the existing, light switch activated ceiling extractor fan with a new humidity sensor one but have no idea which ones are good, which brands are the best. Could anyone advise which are the very best ones on the market? (a few options of top price range down to medium range) Thanks Kate

Common misconception maybe. All condensation forms on a cold surface. If your bathroom walls and ceiling are not insulated you will get condensation and mould growth even if you did not use the bathroom. Adding extraction or positive pressure systems will help, but as always, curing the cause not the symptoms is always a better solution.

Vent Axia are at the Rolls Royce end of the market, they start at around £75 and go up to about £300
