Vaillant ecotec 24 combi boiler - no heating but hot water ok

Hi, I have a Vaillant ecotec 24 combi boiler. I have hot water, but when I try to turn on the heating via the thermostat fitted next to the boiler it flicks off straight away. The thermostat is Honeywell. Not sure if I can fix or I need an engineer? Thanks.
