When can I paint on a newly plastered exterior wall?

I've been asked to paint a mural on a newly plastered school wall. I'm wondering how long I have to wait before I can apply paint to it - does it have to be completely dry? Any advice would be very welcome - thanks. I can't seem to reply to your post AF Plastering! But thank you for your advice!

Time varies according to the size of the plastered surface, temperature of the room etc. but generally a couple of days is normally sufficient. Run your hand across the surface and if there is no obvious signs of damp remaining in the surface then you should be good to go!
