Drains smelling particularly bad on a morning
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.51 PM
We have a problem with our drains smelling particularly bad first thing on a morning, it's outside and in/around the bathroom. I have no idea what's causing it and don't know if I need a plumber or a drain cleaner. Please help!!
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi,
It could be a number of things...but it sounds like a problem with your trap seals. The purpose of a water trap in a basin, bath or WC is to stop unwanted smells and vermin getting back in to the pipe work. If, for some reason, there's a problem with your traps then the smells can creep back in.
Now there's a few things that can cause seal loss...so if I were you I'd get a plumber to investigate!
