Splitting gas and electricity supply to two meters

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.52 PM

I have a house and flat which share the same gas and electricity supply. Who would I contact for a quote, and permission, to put in second meters so each has its own supply, so we can rent out the flat as a separate property?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, Your electrical supplier may be able to spur off of your existing supply, if not you will require a building company to dig a trench in preperation for your electrical suppler to run the cable. Your local gas supplier will require you to prepare a trench for a new supply. My advice would be to appoint a compitent Building Company who would be able to organise the new supplies on your behalf. I hope this helps Marcus ABS Property Renovations

I assume your talking to National Grid or similar, it depends on what area your in.Best to use the website you can price the work yourself.be used to work out how much gas a tennant has used and a bill produced. For electricity are similiar, contact the EDF Energy provides home and business energy in the UK.
