Damp Proofing

Musty wet plaster smell but noevidence of damp

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.10 PM

We had our walls and ceiling skimmed in our living room (a late 1960's semi) and painted 5 years ago. Ever since, when there is a change in atmosphere it seems more than just when it rains, we get a damp plaster smell. We have had a damp company come in and they couldn't find any evidence and we can't see any patches either. Could it be poor ventilation? (but we didn't have this problem prior to the redecorating) or the walls were painted too quickly? but that shouldn't be an issue this long after? The smell is driving us mad! any suggestions please??
