Black mould on exterior wall in hallway - 1950s house

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.10 PM

Hi, I am having issues with hallway wall. We live in 1950s house and have had previous problems with roof - all sorted now and no leaks etc noted. However in past few months we have noticed patches on black mould spots growing on hall wall. The patches have got worse recently and when I attempt to clean the mold off the damp that is left is always in a very distinct pattern. I open windows at opposite ends of the house to ensure ventilation. The wall has had cavity wall in the past year. One person told us it was condensation but we are unsure as the windows/bathroom etc have been the same and we haven’t had any issues of this sort in the past 12 years. Can anybody shed any light?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The cavity wall insulation is probably damp at the area of the mould.!
