pipes under cement leaking, floor is wet and there is no hot water

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.07 PM

We have a basement flat with the old system boiler, which has a tank in one bedroom. The pipes are under the cement in one bedroom started leaking and the floor is wet and there is no hotwater We urgently need to repairs but we get so many different ideas from different plumbers. One wants to put megaflow but we didn’t like the idea of having electric system. We want to put in a combi boiler and bring the pipes over the ground - is this the good idea ? The cost is soo much because the boiler is in the front sitting room! Shall we leave the pipes under the floor and fix the leakage ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would go for a combi boiler with the pipes above the ground. Reason for no hot water is possibly cos the pressure is too low because of the leak. If putting in a new system try putting it in a different room depending on where the flu exits but you can get extension kits.

You can leave the old pipes in the cement and repair a new apparent route. Cheap and without big damage. First of all, the configuration of the rooms must be seen and then the most correct decision can be made. There is always a correct solution in the investment-return ratio and lifetime of the work.
