Is a 16 amp circuit sufficient for an Electric Hob

I am renovating a kitchen and there is an electric cooker point already in situ . The fuse for this is 16 amp Would this circuit be satisfactory for an electric hob (I will be using a gas oven) Thanks

This all depends on the power consumption of your hob. There should be a data label on the hob somewhere that tells you the rating. 16A is good for up to 3.6KW, any more than that and you'll need to upgrade the circuit. Please bear in mind it is always recommended by building regulations to have a douple pole isolator within 2m of the appliance.

Unlikely unless you go for a very basic hob. Most hobs are 6 to 7Kw and require a 32amp circuit.
