Do I need electrician to disconnect and connect electric cooker when moving house?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.06 PM

Hello, I am moving house (hopefully getting a date soon!) and I am taking my electric cooker with me, it's around 3 years old. Do I need to get an electrician to disconnect it and re connect it in the new house? Many thanks, Stacey

Hi Stacy, You do not need an electrician to disconnect and reconnect your electric cooker. It is a doodle, if you know how.You can do it yourself if you feel very confident in your competence to carry it out. If not please stay safe and keep others safe and get in a qualified and competent electrician to do it for you. Regards, David

Electrician not required as long as person doing the removal can competently practice safe isolation procedure. Work is not being carried out on the circuit itself just removal/replacement of an appliance. But if any doubt use a registered electrician.
