covering artex on a fire place/chimney breast
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.06 PM
We have a chimney breast that has artex on and I want to cover it with something as it looks ugly and cheap, I was thinking of using polycells smoothover to cover it with after knocking off the higher peaks first, does anyone know if the polycell stuff is any good or should I get it re plastered ?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

do they still make that rubbish lol? Only way to make it look right is to get a plasterer to sort it.

Not sure if any of the Plasterers on here would be able to use that rubish
Always laugh when I see the advert Think how many tubs you would need
As AJ said get a Plasterer Should be cheaper than useing that stuff

Get it done professionally lol it sounds like a decent feature in the room and be careful chipping away at artex it sometimes contains asbestos.
