Need to paint a newly plastered bathroom ceiling, recommendations for products?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.06 PM

Our new bathroom is being used daily but we did have the ceiling skimmed at the time and we decided we could paint that ourselves. (silly in hindsight..) However, I have now seen that we should apply a mist wash/coat before the final coat of emulsion. Could anyone recommend a good product for using on our bathroom ceiling? And also, will the plaster be dry enough, considering the shower gets used every day? Thanks in advance :)

Hi dulux in my opinion is one of the best paints on the market ,you will need to put a mist coat on first which should be 50% paint to 50% water then leave to dry out before applying your finish coats .I would leave the plaster at least a week from being plastered to painting hope this helps

As Stephen mentioned a base coat will be required. If this is an additional bathroom I would advise that you apply the mist coat and leave for at least 48 hours avoiding the use of hot water. I recommend Dulux. Good Luck
