Depth of foundations for conservatory - help needed please
Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.34 PM
Hello, we've been given a quote for a conservatory with building works as follows: Dig out and remove soil required to accommodate new base. Excavate and lay concrete footings to accept dwarf wall. Footings will be at least 150mm below existing ground level. Build up to floor level, house DPC with closest matching material, lay damp proof membrane, construcypt a timber syrups ended insulated floor and covere with moisture resistant chipboard. Cut slot and fit vertical damp proof course if this cannot be fitted, a waterproof agent will be applied to the masonry to stop ingress of water. Build a cavity wall to the height of 750mm. 2 questions with the above: 1. I'm concerned that there is no mention of the depth of the foundations, 2. also a large tree is being removed this week (ash tree70'' approx) should we wait until the ground has settled before any building etc is done? Thank you
