You shouldn't need a purlin on a roof that size 10x2 ridge 8x2 rafters at 400mm centres 4x3 wall plate and strapped every 4 rafters

Building Control have a standard template which you can use to design your roof using structural graded timber(C16) removing the need for guess work and cost effective as you are not oversizing timber.( NHBC also have a similar template)
