Painting outside of house (top floor of Edwardian conversion) - scaffolding needed?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.10 PM

Hi, I live in the top floor of an edwardian conversion. The original house would have been a two storey semi with 4 beds, but quite tall. Looking to the whole of the outside decorated, will I need scaffolding, or will it be possible with tall ladders?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, It all depends if it is above I think its 8 metres you will. All so how accessible it is. And finally finding a painter to go up a ladder more than 5 to 6 metres is hard these days. Hope this helps

it depends on the front profile of the house, whether there's a bay window or any other obstacles sticking out or if its a flat area. For safety, ease of access and detailing, it would be safer and easier to do it with scaffolding, but the tall ladders would do the job depending on what the ground surface is like for propping the ladders.
