Why is my Triton T100E shower temperamental (especially in the morning)?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.06 PM

My shower has become temperamental over the past week. It is a Triton T100E and will only warm up infrequently. I currently have my hot water on a timer- the taps are constantly warm and get hot when needed however the shower doesn't. This is happening more frequently in the mornings. I have tried the shower while the timer is on and when the timer has just finished and it remains cold even though the bathroom tap is hot. I have even put the hot water on constant and it still only seems to warm up when it wants to. I can turn the shower on in the afternoon and its beautifully warm and ready to use. This is going to cause a problem if i am only able to have a cold shower when I start back at work next week. I have a Baxi Solo 3 boiler but it is not a combi boiler. It was serviced in February by the previous owner of the property. Any ideas why this is happening? Is it the shower/timer or boiler?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

hi Your shower model T100E is a electric shower so it uses cold mains water pressure directly and it heats (should) the water. Its DOES NOT use and any stored water. Totally independent of your water heater (cylinder). Two main common problems 1. You have low mains water pressure in your area especially during peak times 2. Shower heating can or related components scaled up. solution 1. checked mains stop cock if fully opened and any other isolation valves for the show are opened. 2. open and check water pressure in the KITCHEN COLD TAP usually its mains fed. 3. If you have a garden tap open the tap and the kitchen tap check if they is a huge drop of pressure as compared to 2 above. if all ok then mostly likely a new shower is needed, however they are other checks that will require removing the shower unit which i cannot advice at the moment as it requires some basic plumbing and electrical knowledge. Not sure of your knowledge in this area.
