How would I get paint of common brick is there a paint stripper I can use

The paint is peeling of the common brick which has been painted I was going to use a pressure washer would that damage the brick

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

this is a very common problem with stains on brickwork white spirit will get the paint of a smooth face brick with a sponge if its a rough brick then brickacid which can be found in all builders merchants put a cup full in a bucket with a wire brush and dip the brush and apply it to the area keep doing this till it goes which should be pretty instant and wash area down with water to clear the acid of the brick hope this helps.

I would recomend nitromorse paint stripper or pressure washer should be fine or use both stripper first then washer

Hi Barry, Without knowing the condition of the brickwork, it's hard to say the best method...most times they sand blast paint of brickwork if a pressure washer doesn't work, but this also tends to damage the brick face and the they usually end up re-pointing. I would get a bricky to look at it first, there are chemicals they use to clean up brickwork. They would probably be better to ask than Decorators.
