Isolating supply from condensing boiler to radiator

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.06 PM

Hi Arthur ( other half ) has purchased a new rad and valves for our downstairs loo. I need to disconnect the rad complete with both valves to fit new. Is there an isolation valve on the flow/ return to my Valiant Condensing boiler? If so which one? Regards Andrew @ Fibretechs Update 29/8/14 thanks for advice - it is a condensing boiler - found manual - isolated flow and return pipes - job done! Full flame - rad is downstairs in cloakroom so I assume the whole system will drain - how do you just drain the boiler?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Better to just simply drain down the whole heating system. I presume it is a combi boiler? Update: Just simply open all the ground floor drain cocks one by one, but first attach a suitable hose that will run outside to the street or an external drain, allow it to drain for a few minutes then open the air vents to the first floor radiators, this allows air in to the heating circuit to assist in the draining process. Your boiler will drain too during this procedure. Make sure the isolation valves to the flow/return of the boiler are fully open!

Drain down Vaillant Combi Boiler to Zero then drain the Rad in the bath room then swap the Rads over. NO need to shut off the Vaillant Isoltion Valves
