How long does 65mm of gypsum plaster take to dry?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.09 PM

It's been two months now. Victorian house - had to replace old plaster as it appeared only the wall paper was keeping it in place! The bricks were painted with SBR from Everbuild. the plaster is British Gypsum Bonding finish - the thickest bits are 65mm. How can i help dry it out without it cracking? fan, dehumidifiers, heating on low? Any advice gratefully received. Thank you

Hi, 65mm bonding plaster is pretty thick to be honest and will take some time to dry out. You will probably notice that some areas are drying more quickly than others. We prefer not to force dry as you say it could crack. Best thing to do is keep heating on low and room well ventilated.
