I want to make this vanity mirror https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxoRLut6RWc and the girl wires it like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qzzXfB0Jsg I want to know if this is safe to do? And if not is there a safe way i can make the same vanity, like maybe wiring it differently or doing it this way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVzYHS9xyjM These bar lights look more safe http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/60191370/ but im unsure. I really want this design of the vanity, but i also don't want to start a fire, if anyone could help that would be great.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Last one is your best choice (it's IP44 rated), first 2 will not meet the very basic requirements of BS7671, hope this helps

Firstly you must apply and pay your local authority to get Part P building regulation consent in order to carry out DIY electrical work in the home (approx £200 - £300) without it you would be working illegally and could be fined up to £5000.

Practical advice. Hire a local competent person via this website or on recommendation. Get face to face advice from one or more shortlisted tradespeople. Don't attempt this yourself. It may look simple but there is more to it than you might think. Get the job done safely and to your satisfaction.
