Hi Happygirl, Yes you should get the same finish as the normal trowelled on plaster, but you should also get a slight reduction in price per sq metre as it is quicker & there is less waste, get this plasterer to price for both and then you will have a better idea of any cost saving , hope this helps,, steve @ PDQ

Hi happygirl
In answer to your question no you wont get as good a finish with spary plastering system unless you know what you're doing and it's quite messy and costly and the plasterers that are using the pump must be good on the rule, trowel, setting out otherwise it can turn in to a nightmare real quick as if you get a wall wrong its really hard to put right afterward. unless the area to be done is over 500m2 don't bother as it's not worth the agro
good luck & all the best steve
I've noticed a lot of tradesman saying spary systems are better? Really if that's the case why are they machines for sale up and down the country? ...it's messy and not easy to do. Unless you're gutting the house your working in its totally pointless
Render machines for floor screeding & render systems yes! but for plastering/undercoat work never unless on really large jobs over 500m2 forget it!

Yes you will get the same finish, machine applied plaster and render is easier to apply to the walls.
