Temporary plastering to "hold" chased walls
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.06 PM
Hi, just had house rewired and have many lovely chased channels on the walls now (as expected) . I want to put in a temporary coat of something, just to hold everying stable and stop any crumbling of the bricks and old plaster, and keep the electrical boxes dust free. Then I will follow on in a couple of weeks to do the plastering properly in conjunction with redecorating. Can I use paint? Or a thin mix of some sort? Any guidance most appreciated, thank you! Miss A.

You could try unibond and water mixed and brush on ,just make sure you do it again just before plastering and remains wet as you plaster .

Brush on a coat of blue grit it will hold the wall stable and be ready for the plasterer when he comes to do his work
