mains power sockets extended via crimping

i have some power sockets that have been lowered and wires being chased into the wall ready to be plasterboarded over the wires have been crimped together is this ok as a junction box joint or chocblox have to be accesible.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

A crimp joint is a maintenance free connection and can be left as is, however, personally I wouldn't do this, I prefer to have any joints accessible.

Crimping is not the best method of extending cables but it is acceptable provided the crimped joints have some form of protection over them. As you have highlighted if a junction box is used then it needs to be accessible to enable the terminations to be inspected and tested in the future. The best option would be to use constant pressure spring connections such as those made by "WAGO" or "Hellacon blocks".

Crimping would be the way to go but should be double insulated as well. You can use heat shrink for this. I have heat shrunk individual cables then the outer sleeve.
