New radiator paint has started to fine crack and rust on top

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.05 PM

Hi my 4 month kitchen radiator has started to crack and rust on top. These are hare line cracks. I occasionally dry my wet kitchen towels on here. I'm just wondering if this is a fault with the finish and I can get a replacement or if it is my fault how to I re paint the tiny cracks?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The paint finish on new radiators is susceptible cracking and corrosion if you place wet/damp fabrics on them. As only a fine coat is applied after manufacture. Try sanding the whole radiator with a fine abrasive then clean with a solvent cleaner, mask surrounding area's and apply radiator spray paint. Follow manufacturers safety advice!
