New roof or replacement ceiling for glass conservatory?
Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.33 PM
I have a glass conservatory (7'9 x9'7) and would like to improve the insulation. Would a new roof be better than an insulated ceiling. What is likely to be the difference in cost? Am I better with one of the advertised larger specialist companies?

Top choice for u-value would be a 'warm roof' conversion (between+and over rafter bars) internally plastered.
Next best would be possibly a hybrid roof this may consist of insulation between and under rafter bars (not tiled on the outside of roof, composite panels) internally plastered.
Just to add flat ceiling and insulate would be hugely cheaper than a conversion, though this may detract from the spacious feel of the room also loose a lot of light.
Always best to quote from a local specialist. Big companies=big money!
