Laminate flooring settling in time - cracking and sinking especially around edges of room
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.51 PM
Hi in the last week I've had laminate flooring laid, in the first few days there was sinking and creaking when you walked across it. The tradesmen said that this would be rectified by a bit more time and adding the skirting. A few days later, it has improved however there is still some cracking and visible sinking especially around the edges of the room. Is there a settling in period or is this a bit of a line he's feeding us?? Thanks in advance
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Floor should have been leveled with a self levelling compound all over, sound as this as not been done, i would say he has over used the adhesive and it is to thick around the edges and is shrinking and causing movement
