Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.51 PM
i have a brick built outhouse with a toilet, which has been removed and capped off. however there is a water pipe for an outside tap, which comes out of the concrete base in the toilet. i need to know how i can remove this tap, i have tried turning my water supply off at the point where it meets my water meter, but this has no effect on the outside tap? where will i find the stopcock for it

You wont, it has been tee'd off the cold water service pipe underground. You will need to isolate the mains cold water stop cock outside your boundary, usually in the pavement, (make sure its not a communal stop cock serving other properties too) then carefully dig down and cap off the separate water service in your W.C below ground level. Not a job for the DIY'r, best call in a
plumber to undertake this work!
