Water leak damaged part of skirting board and probably plaster board behind shower

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.05 PM

Hi I recently had a water leak from my shower. A new shower is now installed. But the water has damaged part of the skirting board and probably the plaster board behind shower. How should I go about getting these fixed? The work is covered by the insurance but I will need a quote before the work can begin. Thanks M

Sometimes its hard to tell the extent of water damage without first removing some plasterboard etc. Do you know if the plasterboard was standard or a 'aqua board' type? It may be possible to cut out just the worst parts.

It can be difficult to tell the extent of water damage without first removing some plasterboard. If it’s been aqua boarded It may be possible to cut out just the worst part of it and replace and then replace the skirting board that was damaged.
